Bulgarian Ivan Ivanov has been proclaimed champion of the ITF M25 Ciutat de Tarragona 2026 , after defeating Spanish Alex Martí Pujolras in the final by 6/3 and 6/2 . The final, played on Sunday on the courts of the Club Tennis Tarragona, has closed a week of competition of excellent level, marked by a great atmosphere and an outstanding participation of the public.
The official trophy award ceremony was attended by several institutional and sports authorities:
- Elisa Vedrina , Deputy for Tarragona in the Congress of Deputies
- Estefania Serrano , Territorial Representative of Sports in Tarragona
- Javier Soler , Sports Director of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation
- Ton Rovirosa , Territorial Delegate of the Catalan Tennis Federation
- Mario Soler , Minister for Sports, Sports Tourism and Health of the Tarragona City Council
- Luis Salas , President of the Tarragona Tennis Club
During the event, a special distinction was also made to Eduardo Bueno , tournament supervisor, and his refereeing team , in recognition of the rigorous and professional work carried out throughout the week.
Result of the doubles final
The doubles category was decided on Saturday, with the triumph of the Spanish pair Sergio Callejón and Pedro Vives , who beat the French Sean Cuenin and Mathys Erhard 6/3 and 6/3 .
Champion’s statements
After the final, Ivan Ivanov gave a very positive assessment of his experience in the tournament:
This week has been really nice. Tarragona is beautiful. It’s a fantastic club and the organization is excellent, so I’m really grateful to have been here.
Regarding the facilities of the Tarragona Tennis Club, he adds:
Everything has been great: the people have been very friendly, the food is good, the place is beautiful and the slopes are in very good condition.
Regarding his sporting future:
I hope I can win more titles like this, make the jump to Challenger tournaments and, maybe one day, reach the ATP circuit.
And a message for the younger generation:
May they continue to fight every day to improve and enjoy themselves on the court.
