THE 'LA CAIXA' FOUNDATION AND CAIXABANK COLLABORATE WITH THE TARRAGONA TENNIS CLUB TO PROMOTE AN INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND

Club Tennis Tarragona takes a step further in its social responsibility project and has incorporated an inclusive playground into its facilities, open to everyone, in collaboration with the “la Caixa” Foundation and CaixaBank.
The new space is made up of four different elements: a swing with harnesses for children with special needs; a seesaw and two equally inclusive game modules, all without barriers or limitations and with maximum security.
The inclusive playground is located in the children's area that was already at the entrance of the club, next to the terrace and cafeteria, and is completely free.
“This park is a commitment with our partners but also with the people of Tarragona. Families with children with special needs ask for them, but there are almost none in the city. That is why we have made such a firm commitment together with the “la Caixa” Foundation and CaixaBank, which has accompanied us from the very beginning ”, they explain from the Tarragona Tennis Club itself.
The organization also offers the possibility for these families to know the different social projects that are carried out in their facilities and that allow children to have direct contact with physical activity and its benefits.
In the purely sports field, the CTT has the 'Inclusive Tennis' and 'Paddle with you' programs, which value sport in a healthy environment through these two types of racquetball.
The club also recently launched the 'Cultivating the Mind' program which it carries out with the La Muralla Association, dedicated to the insertion of people with mental health problems. In this case it consists of the maintenance of a natural space located in the Park area and which serves as a therapeutic garden.
Thanks to its territorial capillarity, CaixaBank's branch network can support the “la Caixa” Foundation in its social work, detecting the needs of local social entities and channeling part of the Foundation's budget. In 2020, 89% of the bank's branches supported some social project and made it possible for thousands of small and medium-sized charitable social entities to access financial aid to carry out their programs.
