THE CHILDREN'S TEAMS AIB, CHAMPIONS OF CATALONIA

Last Sunday, April 14, 2024, was once again a historic day for the Tarragona Tennis Club. And it is that its two male children's teams, A and B, were proclaimed Champions of Catalonia by teams.

Firstly, they had a complicated date on Saturday, as they had to play in the semi-finals of the tournament. Team A won 5-2 against CA Laietana, while Team B beat CT Llafranc 4-3. The players achieved access to the grand final of their categories (Gold and Silver, respectively). The icing on the cake was that both finals were played at home, at the facilities of the Tarragona Tennis Club. A boost of motivation for our young tennis players, who did not disappoint anyone.

To begin with, it was the turn of Infantil B, who received CT La Salut at 10 o'clock. Finally, the team captained by Alberto Gil and Daniel Mulero managed to proclaim themselves champion of category B, with a strong result of 5-2.

Once it ended, Infantil A wanted to follow the same path, even though it faced a complicated rival such as RCT Barcelona. A final that had to be decided in the doubles, and with victory for the locals by 4-3 in the doubles, captained by Pedro Gutiérrez.

A historic feat for Club Tennis Tarragona, which managed to proclaim itself Champion of Catalonia in a double match. A pride for players, coaches and members of the province. It had been more than 10 years since there had been a Catalan Championship in the men's team category.

They are: Marc Castellví, Pol Mas, Alejandro Marco, Allen Yang, Iván Villas, Javier Pujol, Lian López, Marcel Pons, Enric Montero, Jaume Montero and Oriol Pedemonte. Special mention to the captains who accompanied the teams during the competition: Pedro Gutiérrez, Daniel Mulero and Alberto Gil.
