SARA DOLS AND GERARD CAMPAÑA WIN THE RED CUP BMW OLIVA MOTOR AT THE TARRAGONA TENNIS CLUB
The Balearic player Sara Dols and the Korean Gerard Campaña have been proclaimed brilliant winners of the third edition of the BMW Motor Red Cup, the test of the world youth tennis circuit that has been played throughout the week at the Tarragona Tennis Club and that it has brought together the great promises of the under-18 sport
In the women's final Dols won 6-1 and 6-3 over Carolina Gómez from Madrid, winner of the tournament in the 2020 edition and number 1 seed this year.
The Balearic has gone from strength to strength and since the quarterfinals, where he beat local player Anna Ortiz, he has played a very solid game that has led him to win the title. In the semifinals he had beaten the sixth favorite, Raquel Caballero, 6-0, 6-4.
In the men's category Gerard Campaña (1) was also the most effective tennis player and in the final he defeated the Swiss Dylan Dietrich by in three sets by 1-6 6-1 6-4.
The Asian tennis player has starred in a spectacular comeback after losing the first set with force. Interestingly, both in the semifinals and in the quarterfinals he already had to face the first set against, which proves his enormous competitiveness.
Campaña has signed the double as he has also taken the men's doubles alongside the Japanese Jay Dyland Friend, with whom he won 6-3 6-4 to the Greek Georgios Nouchakis and the Spanish Carlos Ramos.
In the women's doubles the title went to the Austrian Rosin Gilheany and the French T. Rakotomanga, 6-4 6-3, against Raquel Caballero and Violeta Martínez.
130 players from 30 countries around the world took part in the tournament.
