PRESENTED THE THIRD RED CUP OF THE TARRAGONA TENNIS AT THE GODÓ TOURNAMENT

The Tarragona Tennis Club has taken advantage of the Comte de Godó tournament to present the 3rd edition of the BMW Oliva Motor Red Cup, the test of the world youth tennis circuit that will be held on the courts of the Tarragona club from 7 to 13 June.

The tournament, reserved for tennis players up to 18 years old, will be played in both the men's and women's categories. 32 participants will face the preliminary phase - on 5 and 6 June - and 32 more the final table. In doubles 16 pairs will compete.

The presentation took place in the press room of the Real Club Tennis Barcelona and was attended by the Secretary General of Sport of Catalonia, Gerard Figueras; the Territorial Delegate of the Government of the Generalitat in Tarragona, Oscar Peris; and the director of the Tarragona Tennis Club Lluís Yebra.

Figueras stated that “thanks to the involvement of the sports fabric of Catalonia and the effort of its clubs that make it up, initiatives such as the Tarragona Tennis Club are emerging that bring international events to our country, giving the opportunity to Catalan players to be able to assert their level without travel and the costs that this entails ”.

Peris, in turn, expressed his satisfaction with the continuity of the tournament: “We are very happy that the Red Cup is consolidated within the world youth tennis circuit in Tarragona. We trust in the experience of the Tarragona Tennis Club in the organization of events and we encourage them to continue keeping the bar as high as before ”.

Lluís Yebra, for his part, emphasized that "Club Tennis Tarragona continues to bet on safe events" and announced that, like the previous edition, "all players will undergo a test of antigens if the health situation remains the same as now ”.
