Albert Montañés will play the Spanish Team Championship with the Tarragona Tennis Club

Club Tennis Tarragona will have a luxury addition to the next absolute Spanish Championship for men's teams. Albert Montañés , considered the best player in history in the region, will defend the CTT shirt with the aim of helping our team achieve permanence in the highest category of state tennis .
Montañés , now 40 , became the 22nd player in the ATP world rankings in 2010. He was a professional for 18 seasons, and in 13 was in the world top 100.
He has six individual titles on his list: Amersfoort (2008), Bucharest (2009), Estoril (2009 and 2010, in this edition beating Roger Federer in the semifinals), Stuttgart (2010) and Nice (2013). And two more in doubles: Casablanca'2008 , pairing with Santiago Ventura, and Doha'2010 with García -López. He also played 53 Grand Slam tournaments during his career.
The player from Ebre officially retired in 2017 at the Godó tournament, but he is in very good shape as he trains daily at the Albert Montañés de la Ràpita Tennis Center , his hometown, where he works as a coach and teacher.
The state qualifiers will be played on the tracks of the Cercle Sabadellès 1856, from 3 to 6 November 2020, with the presence of the best national teams. Permanence will be the goal of the Tarragona, who have captain Alex López and have, among others, David Jordà in their ranks.
