The Tennis Club Tarragona hosts throughout this week the 3rd edition of the BMW Oliva Motor Red Cup, the test of the world youth tennis circuit is already competing its main tables in both singles and doubles, with players up to 18 years , from 30 countries around the world and from continents as diverse as Europe, America and Asia.

Local players Iñigo Villacampa, Marc Boada, Anna Ortiz and Iker Uribarrens overcame the first round of the individual competition yesterday and will play the second round on Thursday 10 June. Marina Sáez did not lose in a very disputed three-set match.

This Wednesday, June 9, the number one (1) players in both the men's and women's teams were released. Gerard Campana (Kor) (1) beat Catalan Noah Regas (ESP) 6-4 6-1 on the central court of Club Tennis Tarragona. In the same round of play at 11:00, Carolina Gómez (ESP) (1), the champion of the previous edition, made clear the status of main favorite winning with a convincing 6-1 6-2 against Michelle Yeo (SGP).

These days the club presents a very complete agenda of activities parallel to the competition, today different authorities and the main sponsor 'BMW Oliva Motor' represented by Santi Oliva have visited the facilities following the matches that were played in them tracks of the entity of Cala Romana. Joan Josep Garcia, has shown the joy on the part of the Diputació de Tarragona to host in our city a sporting event of great level and magnitude like this. On the other hand, Joan Plana on behalf of the Generalitat de Catalunya commented openly, 'I am happy to be part of this sporting event and especially here, at the Tarragona Tennis Club, as it will be the last in office'.

The doubles finals will take place on Saturday 12 June (5pm) and the two singles finals on Sunday 13th (from 10.00 am for the women and then for the men). Please note that all matches of the week will be free of charge.
